The rule

Drawings: pencil on paper, 2016; Installation: concrete powder and resin, 2018; Installation: wood, 2020

The rule is an ongoing work and is developed in several mediums reflecting on rules and punishment, institutions and eduction. As a result of my continued experience in education, this cycle of works lays a critical view on the educational system.

The starting point of the cycle is 5 drawings realized in 2016, bring memories from my childhood and focusing on punishments and the hands as the object that ‘gets it’.

In 2018 the project continued with the installation made of concrete powder and resin where the hands were again the subject. The real size hands are installed in a position of halt! stop! as a sign of resistance.

The most recent installation part of the cycle is from 2020 representing the object used for precise measurements, a wooden ruler.
